Professional Bio
Venessa Osborne is a veteran of the United States Air Force. A proven innovative quality, continuous improvement, and manufacturing leader with 27+ years of experience in aerospace, she is an advocate for evolution through digital transformation and is currently the Operations Excellence Teams & Transformation Manager at Lockheed Martin Space. Her passion for aviation began on the Charleston Air Force Base Flight line at the age of 5 years old. Post her military career in Aerospace Propulsion, she joined the Boeing 787 Program as a Manufacturing Engineer.
While serving as the Site Quality Inspection and Engineering Senior Leader for the 787 Program, she was responsible for the corrective action requirements of a multibillion-dollar inventory with a primary focus on delivering first-pass quality results utilizing “outside of the box” concepts integral to AS9100, ISO9001, and FAA regulations. Her team of 4 senior quality leaders, 16 first line leaders, 2 tech fellows, and 40+ Material Review Board engineers resolved flight-critical nonconformances for an annual cost savings of approximately $27 million.
She transitioned to Amazon as a Senior Operations and Supply Chain Site Leader following 12 years at The Boeing Company to gain a deeper knowledge of the global supply chain. While leading a team of 6 senior managers and staff of over 3000 associates, she was responsible for a 50-million-dollar budget. Within the first quarter of her tenure, she implemented the first root cause and corrective action system which resulted in a $4 million quarterly reduction in transportation cost.
Venessa is a sought after Six Sigma Master Black Belt who continues to mentor veteran’s transitioning into the civilian workforce. She holds a bachelor’s degree in electrical and computer engineering and a master’s in business administration from The Citadel as well as multiple certifications in quality, lean six sigma, agile methodologies, data science, and project management.
