Professional Bio

Sydney Smith is a dedicated aerospace engineering student at Purdue University, where she is a Presidential Scholar and an active member of the National Society of Black Engineers (NSBE), EPICS(UGTA, Project Manager), and Black Voices of Inspiration. With a strong passion for innovation and advocacy, Sydney founded Eden Evolve, a business that not only manufactures customized 3D prints and lipgloss but also champions the advancement of women in STEM. Through this initiative, she has collaborated with Mississippi legislative officials to address gender and racial disparities in STEM education.

Sydney’s technical expertise spans programming (Python, C/C++, MATLAB), CAD modeling (SolidWorks, NX), and hands-on engineering skills in Arduino, Raspberry Pi, and woodworking. She has presented research at prestigious events, including the Mississippi State University Research Symposium and the William Lewis Undergraduate Symposium, exploring topics from lunar dust applications to time travel physics.
