Patty Mayer

Patty Mayer is currently a Senior Manager on the 777 program, Production Integration Leader for the Wing Assembly Operations team where she continues to pull from her vast and varied experiences at Boeing from the ground floor as a machinist to multiple critical manufacturing engineering positions which include the Flight Deck Doors and Dream Lifter. Her career journey has had a huge impact on how she manages and leads her team. She has a persistent sense of curiosity leading her to continue to develop and apply new skills and knowledge. Her past experiences as Senior Manager on the 767 program, leading the Position 1/ Final Body Join shop, of the 747/767/777 Floors and Automated Floor Grid, and on the 747-8 program, leading the Final Assembly and Functional Test, provide her with many of the skills she uses in her current position. A few other jobs Patty previously held include, first line Manager of multiple shipside support cells on the 747-8 program as the new plane moved through the Factory and a Manufacturing Engineer in Derivatives Airplane Product Development, providing producibility and project management to the 747-8 round out her skills. Wanting to follow in the footsteps of her Grandfather, Father and Mother, Patty joined Boeing Fabrication Division, part of the Boeing Commercial Airplanes in 1986. Patty’s Grandfather was a machinist, her father was a Model Maker and her mom was a Jig builder. During her career with Boeing, Patty was a Machinist Apprentice, and then a Journeyman machinist for the first 10 years, and had the opportunity to run machines and work with machinist her Grandfather had worked with. In 1996, Patty moved in to machine part planning. After a couple of years of planning she moved into the Fabrication Divisions Producibility group, working in Everett, alongside the engineers during the design of various airplane derivatives.
