In my early 20's worked in Auto Retail moved up the ranks from cashier to Store Manager, my late 20's/early 30's rec'd a chance to work in manufacturing. Took that position, single mom of a 2yrs old, working in a shops warehouse, advanced to Receiving. Then in 2008 the economy dropped, we lost 31% of our employees, they had me running warehouse, receiving and shipping. Going back 3yrs our business had just launched a new facility in China which started our Import/Export. Plate was full, but I was raised in a country family of 5 girls, w/a resilient mom who was dealt a lot of obstacles. She taught us so much in so many areas of life as well as having a sister who has downs syndrome. Both gives you a different perspective on life, people, work and overcoming the toughest opportunities. Here I am 23yrs at Burke Porter, Lead Logistics Specialist with hopes to move into the next opportunity. This past year I've been working more as a Global Logistics Director or Coordinator then physical work. Training coworkers to do more of the daily tasks onsite; so that I can share my knowledge of international shipping to our other locations logistics, purchasing and procurement teams around the world. Motto " Treat your job as another child, you groom, guide, nourish, treat w/ultimate care as well as defend as if it's your own" When you do this your heart is in your work as well as your life.
